Women of the ELCA
A ministry for all women of the church. “As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.”
Women of the ELCA meet the first Monday of the month at 5:30 pm in the Parish Hall.
Quilters
The quilting group sews quilts (and facemasks) for people in need. Some quilts are distributed worldwide through Lutheran World Relief. Others are delivered locally to offer comfort to those who are sick or in hospice care. The quilters meet on Friday mornings.
Choir
Worship services are enriched through the gift of music and song by the adult choir. Practices are held Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings.
S.H.I.N.E. Soup Kitchen
St. Matthias sends a crew to cook for and serve our neighbors in need. SHINE is located at The Dream Center, 111 Hillcrest Drive in Easley. We serve on the third and fifth Wednesdays of the month.
